Year 1 Visit the Beatrix Potter Attraction – 17th March 2017

Mrs Birkby’s Class travelled up to the Lake District today to visit the Beatrix Potter Attraction…and they had a brilliant time!!

To consolidate their Literacy work on the books by Beatrix Potter the children spent nearly two hours looking around the exhibition, discussing the models of the Beatrix Potter characters and answering questions about what they could see.

The children also spent time in Peter Rabbit’s Herb garden which won a Gold medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2014. They tried to find some hidden mice and Tim, the gardener, let them smell some of the herbs which were there.

We then nipped to the Brockhole Gardens to eat lunch under the roofed picnic area.

As always at THT…the children’s behaviour was exemplary and, even though it was raining, they all had a super time!!

also let them smell
