School Admissions for September 2024 For Lancashire Resident Families

The information below is now out of date as all deadlines for School Applications for 2024 have now passed. However, the information for next year will still look similar to this.

Do you have a child who has a 4th birthday between 1st September 2023 and 31st August 2024, or is his/her last year of Primary School from 1st September 2023??  – then for Lancashire resident families you need to start applying for a school place in September 2024, even if an older brother or sister is already attending your preferred school/academy.

The means of application is via Lancashire’s on-line system at:-

(then “Apply for a school place”)

The application process will go live on 1st September 2023. It is quick and easy to use and offers an e-mail receipt of all submitted applications. Please ensure that you hit the “submit” button when you are ready to send in your completed on-line application. If you live in Lancashire you can include out of area preferences on your on-line application.

The closing dates for applications for September 2024 are at 11-59 pm on:

The deadline for Secondary school applications closed on 31st October 2023

Primary school applications – 15th January 2024

For prospective parents, or indeed anyone who is interested in life at THT, we have an Open Day on 18th October 2023.

For more information regarding this year’s Reception Admissions you can read our Admissions Policy for 2024 by clicking here, or by visiting the Policy Page Section section of this website.

For present Reception Class places, admissions are processed through Lancashire County Council until November, after that, Tarleton Holy Trinity then deals with the admissions as an ‘in year’ transition.

For “in year” transitions

In-year admission is the process of applying for a school place during the school year. Any application for the intake made after the start of the autumn term will be treated as an in-year application.

The in-year admission process is managed by the school. Parents are required to complete the in-year application form, which is available by clicking here. Where a place cannot be secured, parents will be offered a legal right to appeal to an independent appeal panel. Lancashire County Council administers the appeals process on behalf of the school. Parents can complete the school’s appeal form Appeal for a school place – Lancashire County Council on Lancashire county council’s website.
