Ugandan Folk Art – October 2017

Year 6 have been studying some Ugandan Folk Art including a picture kindly donated by International Needs to thank us for the £1400 we raised for toilet blocks and washrooms in Uganda.

Year 6 noticed that the predominant colours that they use are red (earth), yellow (sun) and black (the Ugandan people’s skin). This is the same as the Ugandan flag. Year 6 spent some time mixing colours to create the background. A lot of Ugandan Art depicts women carrying pots or dancing, and men dressed as warriors. Silhouetted animals are also a common feature. Have a look at Year 6 creating their art…and their finished pieces!!
