Today, Fr Joe visited Year 1 to share in their learning about Jesus, his special friends and why Jesus is special.
Fr Joe led us on an interactive journey, describing “Signs” and how to see Jesus as God and as a human. We sorted Jesus’ events in his life, miracles, parables and actions into True God or True Man. We linked this to two of the three parts of the Holy Trinity too. The children also asked Fr Joe some very challenging and spiritual questions.
We also linked our learning to our current text about The Extraordinary Gardener and Fr Joe was so pleased that the main character shares the same name.
As it was St Patrick’s Day and Fr Joe has lived in Ireland and has Irish heritage as do some of us, we sang a call and response song together. Fr Joe prayed with us and for us and gave us a Blessing too.
After, we made Jesus’ miracle spinners and read some texts about Jesus from our “Faith in Phonics” collection.
Thank you Fr Joe!!
