Bread Making in Year 5 – November 2025

Our DT topic in Year 5 is about tasting and baking our own bread.
First of all we researched about the different types of bread and when and why they might be eaten.
We completed bread questionnaires about our own bread tastes.
After that we tasted a variety of different types of bread, looking at the different packaging and prices.
Then we planned, designed and made own bread! Some of our bread had chocolate, herbs, spices, sultanas and cherries in. Our school cook baked them for us. We enjoyed following a recipe, measuring accurately and working cooperatively in groups, as well as sharing the all equipment.
The  results were delicious!
