Mr Roberts’ Cycle Helmet Talk – 22nd November 2016
Mr Ian Roberts, a member of the PE department at Tarleton Academy, came into school this morning to talk about the importance of wearing a helmet when riding a bicycle (and horse, skateboard etc.).
He talked about how mending a broken arm was ‘easier’ than mending a broken skull, and showed pictures of Sir Bradley Wiggins wearing a helmet whenever he is cycling.
Mr Roberts also told the children that if parents/carers are wanting to buy a new cycle helmet for the children, and want to save a bit of money, the staff at Charnock Richard Cycles (Buy a Bike) will knock you 10% off one, if you say that you mention that the children have just had the helmet safety talk from Tarleton Academy.
