Bees in Year 1 – 8th May 2019

Mrs Birkby, Mrs Birkby’s Mother in Law, visited Year 1 today and brought in a hive of bees!! It was all sealed so the children (and the bees) were safe.

The children looked at how the hive was made and tried to spot the Queen bee. They then discussed what the worker bees did and even got to dress up in bee keeper outfits!! …and the writing that the children created today stimulated by the visit…AMAZING!!
