Bees in Year 1 – 28th April 2021

To support Year 1’s Topic on Mini Beasts, Mrs Birkby brought a Bee Hive into school today…

Mrs Birkby’s Mother in Law, Sheila, is a Bee Keeper – and Mrs Birkby borrowed some of a hive to bring into school. The bees (and the children) were totally safe as the hive is in a sealed unit.

The children got to dress up as bee keepers and have a close look at the hive to spot the Queen Bee. They even got to taste some honey!!
