Ascension Day – 25th May 2022

Year 6, and Year 6 from Mere Brow Primary, were invited to take part in an Ascension Day service outside St Mary’s Church in Tarleton – the old church by the Coe Lane Traffic lights.

The weather was a bit wet and windy, but the children were treated to a lovely service, led by Fr Mark, in a very special setting.

After the service the children were invited into St Mary’s to have a look round the old church – and to have a drink and snack.

To make the event even more special some traction engines went past on our walk back to school. A lovely way to remember the day when our Lord Ascended into heaven – ‘After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.’ (Mark Ch16 v 19)
