Royalty in Year 1…well a Queen Bee – 12th May 2017

Year 1 had some visitors in class on Wednesday afternoon…and they buzzed!!

As part of our topic about mini-beasts, Mrs. Sheila Birkby (Mrs Birkby’s Mother in law) came to talk to the children about bees. She brought lots of things for the children to look at, including about 1000 bees! Mrs. Birkby explained lots of things to the children, including the life cycle of a bee and the important jobs that bees do. The children got the chance to try on some bee keeper outfits, find the queen bee and even taste some honey. The children listened really carefully, asked some brilliant questions and the children and adults all learned so much. Thank you for coming Mrs. Birkby!!
